On popular request from my readers, I need to take a break from Oracle Identity Management Updates and need to Update on Oracle Workflow Notification Mailer.
Oracle Workflow in itself is a Product which is tough to cover in this blog but I am going to cover few important & frequently used components from Oracle Apps DBA point of view which is Workflow Notification Mailer .
Currently with OWF.H (Oracle Work Flow Minipack H) or 11.5.10 Oracle Applications Uses Java Mailer & before that it used to be C Mailer. Some of you who are on 11.5.8 or lower version might still be using wfmail.cfg under FND_TOP . Configuration is quite simple via OAM (Oracle Application Manager) provided you or your unix team setup inbound & outbound mails set up correctly. Notification Mailer will inturn use Operating System command/mail for inbound(for receiving mail) & outbound(for sending mails). At end of this post you can find few metalink notes which cover all things you require to configure Workflow Notification Mailer.
In 11.5.10 Java Notification Mailer is available out of the box , you simply need to configure via Oracle Application Manager .

I come through your blog, finding very informative. Actually i am very new in this field of Oracle, basically i am system guy but now providing support for oracle.
I have an question, could you please let me how to check if workflow mailer is working on unix machine. using ps -ef command what to grep.

Hear we are using the 11.5.10.2 version so how to use the java mailer ?
And do i need to config the wfmail.cfg ?
i have seen the OAM there the service components are in DOWN mode how to get those in to RUNNING mode?
and also can u please tell me how to config the java mailer.

Go to Oracle Application Manager to configure workflow using Java Mailer.
wfmail.cfg is obsolete in Java mailer & now configuration is stored in database and in context file .

Hi Atul,
This is Suresh here, working for IBM in Oracle AS 10g Technologies, almost everything I learned from this site only....I am just having one challenge task as when ever Application Server goes down needs to get email notification to take some neccesary action, I have to follow any way like Oracle AS 10g configuring/using any utility/or using any scripting facility. Can you please advice me any best way to deal with this scenario, if possible will you please provide configuring steps or screen in Oracle AS 10g

Hi Atul,
I am unable to find Oracle Apps 11.5.10.2 Workflow Table's ER diagram.
I have read may pdfs but mostly talk about Workflow builder and only few tables.
I just need a ER-Diagram of workflow tables.
And psudo logic of workflow from start to finish (in terms of tables which updated first and which updated last)
